Beginner Acrylic Paints

When buying acrylic paints, it's important that you don't buy tempera paints! Tempera paints are much thinner (more water) than acrylic paints. When choosing what type of acrylic paints to buy, basically the cheaper they are, the thinner they are and the more expensive - the thicker they are. You want thicker! But, if you have a super young kid, that is painting mostly flat colors and not doing any shading, and just painting on paper.. then these paints are just fine. They are not great, but they are fine.

The good thing about these paints are that you get a little bit of a lot of colors, which is fun!

But as soon as your child is ready to start adding layers or shading, then they will need a more expensive brand, like Amsterdam or Liquitex!
